About us

With experienced and specialised staff based in Brussels and Scotland, Scotland Europa fosters strong links between Scotland and Europe, providing intelligence, policy analysis and strategic funding advice.

From our offices in Scotland at the heart of the European quarter in Brussels, we promote Scottish interests across the institutions of the European Union and to the representatives of Europe’s regions and Member States.

Scotland House, our base in Brussels, is also home to the Scottish Government’s EU Office, offices of the Scottish Parliament and Highlands and Islands European Partnership, as well as other key European partners.

Our services

We provide a hub for Scottish organisations based in Scotland who aim for a stronger, strategic positioning in European affairs.

The many services which Scotland Europa provides include:

• Strategic support for EU engagement and project development;
• EU intelligence, interpretation, analysis and early notification of EU policy developments;
• Guidance on influencing and shaping EU policies and legislation;
• Advice on EU funding and partnership building;
• Networking and capacity-building opportunities; and
• Excellent conference and events facilities available in Scotland House.

Additionally, we also provide an understanding of and insight into policy-shaping strategies aimed at increasing the impact of EU funds and maintaining their role in supporting Scotland’s economic growth.

With a proven record of developing Scotland’s interests and maximising our opportunities in Europe, we offer members an extensive network of contacts within Europe and the support and advice necessary to influence policy, develop projects and share information.

Scotland Europa - a membership-based organisation

Scotland Europa membership brings together a wide range of Scottish organisations from the public, private and education sectors. This partnership gives us a variety of perspectives on Scottish interests in Europe and an influential voice in European affairs.

We are also part of Scottish Enterprise - Scotland’s main Economic, Enterprise, Innovation and Investment Agency - working closely to support our colleagues, both in Scotland and in Scottish Development International offices across the world, to enhance Scotland’s economic development and influence in Europe.

Moreover, while working to raise Scotland’s profile in the EU, we aim to increase the level of expertise and knowledge of European issues within Scotland through our close relationship with our members. Find out more about our capacity building services here.
