Scotland Europa - Research and Education
Research and Education
The European Union agenda relating to research, development and education continues to be of key importance to Scotland Europa and our members.
Throughout 2008/2009 we worked with our members to contribute to the EU consultations on a wide range of issues such as:
- Selection criteria for the EIT (European Institute of Technology) governing board;
- Best practice for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies research; and
- International co-operation on ICT.
We are currently providing a number of tailored capacity-building sessions to members on EU R&D and education issues. This is an area in which we expect to see more demand during the year ahead, having already received requests for support in areas as diverse as:
- Lifelong Learning;
- European Research Council (ERC grants);
- Eco-Innovation;
- Assisted Ambient Living (AAL) and
- International (Extra European) funding cooperation opportunities.
