European Research and, more specifically, the creation of a European Research Area are increasingly a high priority on the policy agenda in Europe.

Scotland has a tremendous potential in terms of Research skills and capacities and Scotland Europa is engaged in supporting both active participation to research policies discussion at the European level and increasing the funding programmes uptake.

The development of modern research in a global environment is based on multilevel co-operation at national, European and extra-European levels. EU policies aim to improve co-ordination, networking and the sharing of best practices beyond national boundaries.

Scotland Europa, as Scotland’s hub in Europe, provides an integrated platform where academia, civil society, public authorities and companies work closely together at national and European level to face the global challenges of our society.
