The London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games require the procurement of goods, works and services from an enormous range of firms.

These opportunities will be awarded by both the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Ltd (LOCOG) and their suppliers in the supply chain.

The London Business Network is the organising mechanism that ensures these opportunities are open to all businesses.

CompeteFor is a free service for the publication of all Games-related business opportunities, enabling businesses to compete for Olympic contract opportunities.

Businesses can use the CompeteFor brokerage service as a buyer or supplier of Games–related goods and services.

Businesses must firstly register their basic details to allow them to view all opportunities and gain access to Games-related business news and events.

How to apply

To apply for contracts listed on CompeteFor as a supplier, businesses must:

  1. Complete and publish a full business profile.
  2. Search for other suppliers with whom they may wish to partner.
  3. Businesses are then assessed as to whether they meet the "business readiness" criteria.
  4. Once the criteria have been met, the company's profile will be shown as ‘Published’ and will be visible to buyers and matched against opportunities.

Should a company not meet the "business readiness" criteria, Scottish Enterprise or Highlands and Islands Enterprise (depending on location) will provide guidance.

The CompeteFor service is free to use.

The partners involved in the procurement of goods, works and services for the 2012 Olympics include:
