Accessibility of this Web Site

The site aims to comply with the ‘Double-A’ accessibility level. The site has been tested with the FANGS screen reader emulator. Among, or in addition to the Double-A requirements, the following features have been added to assist screen reader friendliness and enhance general accessibility, including:

• Window titles are front-loaded
• Validation text in forms is hidden from screen readers until needed
• Styles have been used in favour of image buttons
• Separator characters between links have been replaced with styles
• Sets of results or links are marked up as bulleted lists
• Hidden header text has been inserted at the start of every navigation list
• Digits in telephone number fields are read out correctly by screen readers
• Hidden images have been used with pagination and other non-descriptive hyperlinks
• File sizes and types have been included in hyperlink text where possible
• Changing values in a dropdown list does not automatically reload the page

Most parts of the site do not rely on JavaScript being enabled, degrading gracefully if it is disabled.

Friendly URLs are used, being lower case and containing no spaces.
